How safe is teeth whitening?

How long do the whitening results last?
You can expect our professional teeth whitening services to keep your teeth sparkling for at least a couple of years. The more you try limiting things that stain your teeth including red wine, coffee, and smoking, the longer the results will last.
Will teeth whitening make my teeth sensitive?
Most clients don’t experience sensitivity during their whitening treatment, but a small number of clients have reported slight levels of sensitivity after their treatment.
This doesn’t usually last for more than a week.
Why should I use a dentist for teeth whitening?
We recommend only using dental professionals to prescribe teeth whitening.
Anyone else offering tooth whitening may not have the right training and knowledge, could permanently damage your teeth and gums and will not be able to offer expert advice if something goes wrong.
What about Teeth Whitening Toothpastes?
Whitening toothpastes can remove surface staining on your teeth, as they can be very abrasive, but they will not lighten the natural colour of your teeth for a prolonged period of time. Due to the abrasive nature of these toothpastes, we do not recommend the use of whitening toothpastes as it can cause irreversible damage and loss of the surface enamel.
